14TH OCTOBER 2025 - LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY - NSW PARLIAMENT

Ms LIZA BUTLER (South Coast) (17:52): I pay tribute to Lynette McFadden from Ulladulla, who has been named the inaugural emergency volunteer of the year. Lynette is an outstanding member of the Ulladulla unit of the State Emergency Service, where she helps lead, mentor and train her fellow volunteers, who are all dedicated individuals standing ready to protect our community during storms, floods and other emergencies. Now serving as the deputy unit commander of the Ulladulla SES, Lynette's leadership is matched by her depth of expertise, built over many years of committed service.

Lynette has developed an impressive skill set that includes logistics, communications, mapping and navigation, land search and rescue, first aid and mental health awareness. Beyond her work with the SES, Lynette has also volunteered with Marine Rescue NSW, further demonstrating her dedication to community safety and service.

Lynette McFadden exemplifies the very best of the South Coast's volunteer spirit: being selfless, skilled and always ready to lend a helping hand when it matters most.
